MPS is a Rhode Island woman-owned and operated business enterprise headed by Mary F. Hutchinson, GISP, Principal.

MPS provides GIS management, planning and specialized mapping services to the public, education, non-profit and private sectors. MPS understands how to use GIS technology and spatial data to support decision-making and improve the operations and processes of government and planning. Founded in the early 1990's we are based in Jamestown, 1.5 miles from historic Newport, RI, the Yachting Capital of the World.

Special Advantages – Small Business; Woman-Owned

MPS is a small business as defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). MPS is also certified as a woman-owned business enterprise and a disadvantaged business enterprise (RI WBE/DBE and SOWMBA) in the following states:

  • Rhode Island (RI)
  • Massachusetts (MA)

Most federal agencies and many states have incentives to include woman and disadvantaged businesses in large contracts. MPS is available for direct GIS contracting.  MPS is available for opportunities with any government agency, and for subcontracting opportunities through prime contractors.

MPS has been approved to provide GIS-related IT services and solutions to Massachusetts' government agencies, cities and towns through the Massachusetts ITS33 contract as part of a sub-contract with Applied Geographics, Inc.  ITS33 streamlines the process of hiring technology professionals under pre-approved conditions without the time and expense of the RFP process. ITS33 replaces the former ITS23 contract under which MPS has provided many GIS-related information technology services in Massachusetts.
