MPS was selected to design and prepare the center-page full-color map for the Newport Harbor Guide 2003. The Newport Harbor Guide, a product of the Seaman’s Institute in Newport, celebrated its 10th anniversary this year with a full-color glossy publication.

The harbor map and environs was prepared using ESRI’s ArcView 8.3 and integrated GIS data from the Newport Harbor Management Plan, the Rhode Island Geographic Information System and other local sources.

The map received an “Honorable Mention for Cartographic Excellence” at the NEARC 2003 18th Annual User Conference held in Newport, RI
